We do everything in our power to make your treatment go by smoothly, but after you go home, your care is in your own hands. Proper before & after care is crucial to making your treatment as quick and uneventful as possible. Here is what you can do to help make your treatment speedy, comfortable and safe.
Provide An Accurate Medical History
Fill out the medical history, allergy and medication sections of your new patient forms accurately and with care. If at any time you remember something you forgot to add or that may be relevant, such as an over-the-counter medication you take daily or a dosage change, alert a staff member immediately. An accurate medical history helps us develop the most effective treatment plan for you and avoid complications. You would be surprised what little details can impact your care.
Listen To Your Doctor
Your doctor will give you detailed instructions on what you need to do before and after surgery, including information regarding IV anesthesia and what you can and cannot eat while you heal. Follow them to the letter. These instructions are vital to your recovery and ensuring your surgery goes off without a hitch. Remember that if you are undergoing IV anesthesia, you will need to arrange a ride home. If you have any questions, ask your doctor, check out our FAQ or contact us by phone or e-mail.
Remember Your Follow-Ups
Resist the temptation to skip your follow-up appointments. Infections, improper healing and other complications can be rectified much more easily when detected early. There could be something going on that you cannot feel. If you are experiencing abnormal levels of discomfort or notice signs of infection before your next appointment, contact us immediately. We are available in case of emergencies 24 hours a day
